Many people are blissfully aware of what the Tech Bar is, or what we do. They clump us together with IT and often the two are confused for one another as on tours we are just referred to as IT. Now, here’s the real scoop on the Tech Bar.
My experience working at the Tech Bar is definitely interesting to say the least. I never knew what to expect coming into this position as a freshman but I’m glad I started working here. I have grown in website creation and coding something I never expected to do, but also in video editing and even 3D printing.
Why should students use the Tech Bar? I think just anyone who wants to gain some expansion of a new skill with technology. Sure we help students create their first website (assuming they don’t know how to do so) but we also do so much more. We have a lot of podcasting appointments and it’s great to see something like that isn’t wasted especially since students have it built into their bill. They should use it as it’s also just a free resource.
Finally, what do I have to say about the Tech Bar?
Well, the Tech Bar is great. I mean, as unbiased I can say it. I love my time here, and the people here are always so fun to be around. It’s nice whenever I come in I get to say hi to Krissy/Molly/Nick and then, bye. The other consultants, while most are graduating are also just the highlight of my day seeing them either at a meeting or on campus. It’s just, a great place.
