Scooby Doo, is well known. There has been many reincarnations of it; some good and some….we don’t talk about those. My favorite TV version of Scooby Doo is Mystery Incorporated (or known as Mystery Inc.). It was released in 2010, and ended in 2013 but I didn’t get to view it until 2013 (right after it ended, the beginning of 4th grade).I like this version of Scooby Doo, probably my favorite but only because I’ve been able to watch this series in full a few times. It’s very different from the normal Scooby Doo series, taking a new approach to the unmasking and it having a story. If the series wasn’t cut short I wouldve loved to see where the story went from that as season 2 was when the story really picked up.
My favorite difference was how the characters acted. Each character had a personality and notable lines, and they seemed to be closer to teenagers with what they said and how they acted. For example, Fred a character who was memed because he was dynamic as a piece of paper has a new personality. He loves his traps. He…REALLY loves his traps. That’s all he loves to talk about, and he’s great at it….until he’s not.
“Politics? That’s adult stuff! You know, kids my age are into traps, and solving mysteries!”
Fred Jones
Besides Fred Jones, Daphne for example is a rich girl who has some issues with her family, especially comparing herself to her sisters. Shaggy is a geek who likes their version of D&D and chose his dog over a girl. He’s also a chick magnet still. Scooby isn’t that different but he finds love, and he also goes through a period of feeling useless and just the mascot of Mystery Inc. and nothing more. Then, there’s Velma. My personal favorite character, she deals with the attitude of being smart for her age. She’s bored, socially unaware (giving off a lot of sarcastic quips) and…smart. There are some characters who come and go, so it’s more than just our five. It’s a nice pace.
I miss the show, and currently rewatching it. Season 2, episode 6 and I forgot how the story went. I forgot that through the episodes of season 2 that we saw Shaggy’s hair grow through the episodes. It was a nice feature, and then the consistency between episodes.
